Don't panic

1. Disconnect your computer from the internet immediately

2. Try to close all open programmes

If, you are running windows and still have control of the desktop environment, then:

3. Activate 'safemode'

Type 'MSCONFIG' into the task bar search box, select tab 'Boot', from 'boot options', check the box 'Safe Mode'.

If all else fails..

4. Shut down the system

If you do not have control over the desk top environment, you may have to 'hard shut down'. In most PCs or laptops, this can be achieved by holding down the start button for 3 to 10 seconds. (devices vary)
